The Future Could Be Bright

In today’s environment we are expected to believe that our government officials know exactly what to do that would be best for us. We vote them into office and then turn a blind eye on their progress, policies and laws.

Our fathers where more connected with the political environment then those of my generation. Due to WW11, Korean war, Vietnam and so one they stayed connected with the policies and procedures. Our generation (35-55) have left these issues to Fox News, CNN and other agencies to report what is important. But there has been a law that has been signed, sealed and delivered right under our nose without there being a large reporting schedule from the major news agencies.

This law would give our government the right to listen to our phone calls, access our homes without our notice, track our email topics and read our mail. All with the intention to find if we are an Friend or Foe. Then, once ‘They’ find that a person is a foe they would have the authority to arrest without an attorney, court hearing, judgement, etc. It is referred to as ‘Detaining’ for a non disclosed amount of time.

The law was signed on Dec 31, 2011 and I have one question….Did you hear about it?”.

It is called NDAA.

The most controversial provisions to receive wide attention are contained in Title X, Subtitle D, entitled “Counter-Terrorism.” In particular, sub-sections 1021 and 1022, which deal with detention of persons the government suspects of involvement in terrorism, have generated controversy as to their legal meaning and their potential implications for abuse of Presidential authority. Although the White House[10] and Senate sponsors[11] maintain that the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) already grants presidential authority for indefinite detention, the Act states that Congress “affirms” this authority and makes specific provisions as to the exercise of that authority.[12][13] The detention provisions of the Act have received critical attention by, among others, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and some media sources which are concerned about the scope of the President’s authority, including contentions that those whom they claim may be held indefinitely could include U.S. citizens arrested on American soil, including arrests by members of the Armed Forces.[14][15][16][17][18]

Take a close look at the last part of the previous statement “U.S. citizens arrested on American soil, including arrests by members of the Armed Forces.”

This is what happens when we turn a trusting eye on a broken system.

This is what happens when our politicians feel they know better then us. They have been in office too long more then two terms. Politicians should not look at politics as a career but as a service to our country. We need to vote everyone out after 2 terms no matter what. If we can send new ideas, new people and more often we could see our government do works that will truly reflect on the future of our country.

Fresh ideas and fresh People will help with a fresh process. Even car companies change their Sykes every 7 years. Home styles change every 10 years. Our politics should change every 8-12 years depending of in the House, Senate or Congress.

This next election find out how long they have been in office and let’s vote them out. Whether Democrat or Republican. Give them 2 terms then vote them out.

Just me ranting….
